This is not breaking news but you seem bent on posting wherever you can. This has nothing to do with getting a 3rd jab.
Ironic timing for him. He’s been battling with cities, counties and school districts who are implementing their own mask mandates in violation of his order that prohibits mask mandates.
Whatever I may think of Abbott, I hope he makes a full recovery. I don’t know whether his being paraplegic puts him in a higher risk category.
This being the first week of school in much of Texas, I predict this news will make people lose their shit.

I didn’t go too far back in the thread, but I thought this was breaking news for we regular folks:
I believe they can. But I will trust the science. As of today, it may be a better bet to simply boost the immune system. It’s not clear to me that Delta is especially good at vaccine evasion. Certainly other variants have scored higher there. Delta has won out in its ability to infect, apparently through mass volume.
So for now, maybe better just to keep the boosters going, and tweaking is secondary? I’m not a scientist on this.
That will be the easy part. The people who got their first two shots will mostly be glad to queue up for their third.
Not only the same vaccines, the same vaccine. For regulatory/approval reasons the standard booster is the exact same vaccine as you got the first time. Personally, I’m not happy going down that path. I’d rather have a booster of one of the other vaccines.
I was told because my first two jabs were Pfizer, I was told I had to have Pfizer for the booster. I wanted Moderna.
It’s been about 27 hours since the booster and I’m feeling a little worse than I did after the second jab - raising my arm causes discomfort, I ran a slight fever last night, and some body aches.
Keep in mind, though, I have no idea what my antibody levels are.

The idea that somebody is analyzing sewerage at the level of the individual apartment building is mind bleeding.
It’s a useful tool in terms of detecting prevalence in the community.
And this is the first time I’ve heard of it being used for any other purpose.
I’d see that as a good sign; Australia (and local government) is serious about detecting where the transmissions are. Obviously, the vaccination regime is key to getting out of this mess.
If you have a vaccination card showing fully vaccinated for at least two weeks, you don’t have to quarantine upon arrival in Hawaii. They’ve started catching tourists bringing in fake cards. A man and his adult son were nabbed at the airport on August 8 with fake cards. They were sent back to California to do their court proceedings by Zoom. This is a serious felony.
Two days later, a couple from Florida were caught with fake cards. They also had fake vaccination cards for their two children, ages four and five … much too young to be able even to receive a vaccine! The parents are a pair of Bozos. They were arrested on Oahu’s North Shore and are out on bail. Story here.

I can understand bananas at number two. But broccoli? People rushed out to horde broccoli? (Toilet paper was ranked 12)
Maybe they’ve discovered broccoli has absorbancy qualities we didn’t know about.
I haven’t been told that (because it’ll be a few months before I’m eligible for the booster), but I too was hoping that I could get Moderna this time instead of Pfizer since Moderna, I believe, has a higher dosage than Pfizer does.
Maybe they’ll change their minds by the time I’m allowed to get it.
