You folks do realize that all this is actually voluntary, right? Nobody can actually prevent you from switching types. All they can actually do is go “Tut, tut” and wag their heads disapprovingly.
Well, of course they can. The other thing they can do is simply tell you ‘no’ when you ask for a different vaccine for a booster. I’m in a state database - they know exactly who I am and what shots I’ve received, where and when. For most it will probably come down to Federal guidance. If the CDC says it is okay to mix vaccines or even that it is a good idea, some locales may offer a choice. If they say it’s not okay or even just don’t issue any guidance, a lot of clinics will play it conservatively and not offer the option.
Availability might also affect choice, though this should be less of a constraint than it was 3 months ago.
You posted this elsewhere and never returned to that thread, so I’ll say it here again: This is about risk to STOCKHOLDERS, not vaccine recipients. I don’t know what you think it proves, but in terms of the effectiveness and safety of the vaccine, it proves nothing. AND it’s 6 months old, not breaking news.

researchers examined 50 patients with symptoms of Long COVID syndrome to better understand if abnormal blood clotting is involved.
They discovered that clotting markers were significantly elevated in the blood of patients with Long COVID syndrome compared with healthy controls. These clotting markers were higher in patients who required hospitalization with their initial COVID-19 infection, but they also found that even those who were able to manage their illness at home still had persistently high clotting markers.
The researchers observed that higher clotting was directly related to other symptoms of Long COVID syndrome, such as reduced physical fitness and fatigue. Even though markers of inflammation had all returned to normal levels, this increased clotting potential was still present in Long COVID patients.

Or, they can ask for your vax card, see that you had Pfizer before and say this one will be Pfizer. When you say you’d rather have Moderna, they say no, we were directed to give the same one as before.

Neither old SEC filings nor the studies used to authorize the vaccines already on the market are remotely “breaking news”. There are other threads where they can be discussed, but please drop the hijack in this thread.
Most states are maintaining a vaccine registry. If you gave you name, they probably know your vaccine history.
When I got my vaccines, there was signage specifically saying that lack of ID or insurance was not a problem.
Gah. I’m about 18 hours post-booster. I was sick all night with chills, aches, nausea, and diarrhea. I’m still in bed and will call in sick today.
At least I know my antibodies are pugnacious and looking for a fight.
Not in New York at least; and I’m betting not in a lot of other states, either. At least, not unless you’re going to claim to be some other person entirely, showing faked ID to do so; which would cause its own problems.
It’s on record who had which shots when.
ETA: if they’re not asking for ID where you are, then you wouldn’t need the fake ID. But you’d still need to claim to be some other person – and probably some specific other person who you knew wasn’t vaccinated, because otherwise you’d risk bringing up somebody else’s records. In either case, you’d be screwing up somebody else’s records. Not cool.
Maybe only Pennsylvania was as sloppily done as I experienced. At Rite Aid had I filled out the paperwork with the name Dick Hertz, 123 Any Street, Owlville, PA, I would have been vaccinated. They wanted the paperwork completed, but there was no attempt to prove accuracy. The paperwork asked a lot about other vaccines (flu, shingles) and I’ve received spam from RiteAid about those services.
For some, lying about something like this is significantly different from just saying you’d like the other vaccine and getting your choice.
Please understand that I mean this in the best way…Hurray for your immune system reacting. Hopefully its getting the message.
I would think that someone with an iffy immune system due to chronic health conditions would want all medical treatments, including COVID vaccinations, to be documented in their records.
Yep, that’s one of the things I would be concerned about. I’m not immunocompromised, and I also generally want my medical records to be accurate. With this vaccine, it may be necessary to prove what you’ve gotten, too.
Washington governor Jay Inslee has mandated vaccination for all school personnel. Anyone refusing will be subject to dismissal. Unfortunately, there’s the usual opt-out of “sincerely held religious belief,” so I’m not sure how much good this does.
He’s also re-instituted the statewide mask mandate.
Probably due to immediate legal or political considerations.
