Since Moderna is similar, can we look for similar results? (I’ve had three shots of Moderna.)
We’ve just been Plan B’d in England. But it’s definitely not a lockdown.
People in England are being asked to work from home again if possible and face masks are becoming compulsory in more places, as part of new rules to limit the spread of Omicron.
Vaccine passports will also become compulsory for entry to nightclubs and large venues from next week…
…“It’s not a lockdown, it’s Plan B,” the prime minister told a press conference.
Point of interest - the use of vaccine passports for events didn’t actually go live in previous waves - it was only ever trialled.

Do the vaccine passports require proof of boosters now? (Are you even doing boosters there?) I assume there’s no word yet on how effective AZ is against omicron?
I guess vaccine passports are better than nothing, but to me, presented with a much more infectious, definitely highly mutated variant, the smart thing would be to shut down night clubs, etc. until you know the vaccinated are reasonably protected. Then open to those with proof of vaccination. But I’ve often thought the burdens of proof have been backward during the pandemic.
But that would be a lockdown.
I have a passport, of course. It includes 2 x AZ vaccinations, 1 x Pfizer booster, plus 2 x PCR tests (travel, hospital surgery follow-up) and 2 x lateral flow tests (all tests negative).
I assume that it will be possible to be unvaccinated but get into a venue on the basis of a recent LFT logged in your passport, but I don’t know that. I also don’t know if LFT reporting can be done using a smart camera to register the test and the result - at the moment it’s pretty much an honesty system: log the result on the website or phone it in.

ETA - I should have clarified, those were home LFTs
Yes, the NHS app is carrying booster information and the booster roll-out is going very well. We are closing in on 40% of the whole population boosted and that pretty much covers all of those most at risk because all the UK vaccine programs have been strictly by clinical need and age.
Moderna and Pfizer are being used for the boosters and the general thought is that AZ gives really good long term T-cell protection for pretty much any variant and the RNA vaccine as a booster gives good neutralising antibodies.
I suspect that the same will be the case for omicron, it may spread quickly but I think the vulnerable should still be well protected from hospital and death.
Is there something you can link to for this? I’ll make my further comments over in the discussion thread.
