The kleenex is usually gone, too–because what do people blow their noses on when they run out of kleenex?
Huge overlap there.

I’ve been using facial tissue (I have quite a bit) and paper towels (again, good supply) since last Saturday. Bagging not flushing. It’s not that big a deal. I have TP but I’ve wanted to do a worst case scenario to see how it goes. If I exhaust my supply of facial tissue, paper towels (re-used paper towels!) and wet wipes then it’s on to rags, and yes, I have a huge supply of rags and old clothing that can be converted to rags.
Cats gotta pee and shit, too. I can make do without toilet paper but there’s not a good substitute for cat litter. When I went to the store last week, I picked up two containers, which I normally do so I don’t have to get it too often. When I went back Monday, there were only a few left on the shelf and it hit me that that actually was a necessary item so I got two more. I think that will last 6 weeks or so. I’ve never really paid a lot of attention to how much I use since I try to always keep some on hand.
Nevermind.
It’s already happening. The biggest culprit is “flushable” wipes, with paper towels not far behind (no pun intended).
I wish I was making this up.
And speaking of making this up, of course Dave Barry has commented on the whole ordeal (so far).
I thought eBay banned the sale of TP and hand sanitizer, among a few other products? Besides, if you’re buying something like that on eBay, you don’t really need it YMMV.
As for kitty litter, this cat mom knows that it has many other uses. Of course I stocked up; why not? I’ve tried kitty litter alternatives, and mine won’t use them, so Tidy Cat non-clumping litter, it is.
I bet newspaper (uncoated pulp newsprint) will work, if they still sell or give out newspapers.
Woman gives birth in the TP aisle of a MO Walmart.
“But you don’t understand Connie, it was either go to the hospital to give birth to you or go to Walmart to get TP. It was a no brainer.”
