Corrupt and Democratic corrupt.

Does put a different slant on things.

Really? :dubious:

An extremist gun control politician pays actual terrorists to smuggle guns that fire freakin’ bombs, into the country.

And the only noteworthy point you can see in the situation is the criminal’s race?

Hey, he wasn’t just doing it for the money. He was doing it for a shitload of money. That makes a difference.

  1. I have no reason nor interest to ‘refute’ anything in this thread. I take the links you posted as factual.

  2. I have no reason to think you a racist, did not call you one, and would actually accuse you of racism if I thought that were the case. If you happen to like Big Trouble in Little China for its exoticism, well, that doesn’t make you a racist either. I was just curious about the source of your enthusiasm for this particular story.

Leland was from San Francisco.

If you want to get elected to so much as a school board in SF, you run as a Democrat.

Even if you are a right-wing ideologue.

Nice try. There is no one in SF getting elected without being a full-on liberal. My favorite was one of the Board of Supervisors, Sandoval, who when arguing that a WWII ship had no place in the bay as a museum (USS Iowa I think) seriously stated that the U.S. should disband it’s military.

Wait—my super favorite is when Cindy Sheehan ran against Pelosi. She got like 20% of the vote, because Pelosi wasn’t left-wing looney enough! HA!

Even better is that Yee received near 300K votes after his indictment and the story was known.

Leeland Yee can’t be described as a right wing ideologue, though. If you look at his positions, he’s pretty liberal. I don’t think there’s any deep lesson to be learned here. Yee’s political positions didn’t make him corrupt and didn’t keep him from being corrupt.

I think he’s using left and right wing to mean pro- and anti-gun control. So he pretended to be pro-gun control to get elected

And, yes, I know using it that way is rather stupid.

I would almost feel better if he was. He only netted $34,600 from this plot.

oh no you di’n’t!

What? What? Behold! the big brown eyes of innocence…
