This is a group stage match up for our Democratic Primary World Cup. Everyone is invited to vote in the poll. Feel free to add comments about why you chose one of these candidates over the other one.
I have my own reservations about Booker; he’s a bit spooky, like he’s secretly the Crimson Avenger or something. Amy is a more conventional politician, I think. I chose her, but I’m not sure I agree with her more on policy.
I voted for Booker: strong forthright, perhaps a great contender.
Klobuchar seems to have character issues and, at best, will be an easy target.
This was the hardest choice for me. I went with Klobuchar.
I don’t know much about either, but I’m going with Booker, mostly on the basis that I think he’s more electable. But this is one where my mind could easily be changed.
I think Booker is perhaps the most naturally talented politician, in terms of communication, among the candidates. But he’s also been, in my understanding, an ally of Wall Street and big banks, and I lean towards the Bernie/Warren side on those issues. Klobuchar, on the other hand, has a proven history of high electoral performance – well above the typical expected Democratic performance for her state. Further, she greatly impressed me during the Kavanaugh hearings. There are the rumors of her being a terrifying boss, but even if they’re true I don’t find them disqualifying (there are plenty of effective leaders in history who were terrifying bosses).
I guess I’ll go with Booker, even though I think he’s a little bit of a showboat. Klobuchar doesn’t excite me.
I really like Klobucher’s position on a lot of the issues. Have admired her since the Kavanaugh hearing. Am looking forward to seeing how she does once we get to the debates. I think she will do very well. She’s just not as flashy as some of the others. I want to like Booker; I liked him in the past but this time around he just doesn’t do much for me.
Booker says we need to impeach Trump. Klobuchar’s still waffling. Booker.
First tricky one for me.
Klobuchar. I think she’s tougher than Booker. And an upper midwesterner isn’t something to be dismissed easily. She instantly makes the oppositions repeat in Wisconsin and Michigan much more difficult.
I’ve always liked Klobachar. Booker is an incompetent grandstander. Or snow shoveler.
This was the hardest choice for me, too. It’s the only one of the matchups where I have strong positive feelings about both candidates.
I like Booker, I like him a lot, but Klobuchar might be my favorite at this point. Klobuchar by at least a couple of hairs.
Klobuchar’s less of a grandstander. Booker’s more of circus act, possibly on purpose, and we have had enough of that already. So, Amy.
She’s still something of a Fritz Mondale in a skirt, with that sort of gray quality that Minnesota pols have. Her campaign isn’t exactly on fire, but neither is Booker’s.
Regards,
Shodan
Finally went with Booker, I am afraid the Bernie Bros would BBQ him on a spit, however.
For someone like me who follows politics avidly, I know next to nothing about Klobuchar. Her campaign is the only one that doesn’t email me daily.
