I’ve tried some searches but I can’t get past all the sites selling items made of cotton duck fabric. What is the history of the name? I’m guessing it may come from hunting clothing, but I have no real idea.
Any dictionary can tell you:
Etymology: Dutch *doek[/i/ cloth; akin to Old High German tuoh cloth.

Thanks. I tried M-W online but didn’t get me much. Looks like Britannica is much better for this type of search.
That etymology comes directly from Merriam-Webster online.
I must not have checked all the definitions. :smack: Thanks again.
