Couch-to-5K: Anyone with me?

So I just hit one of my milestones. Two miles* non-stop* (no walk period.) And while I won’t say it was easy I will say there was never a time when I didn’t think I would finish it.

I had two concerns on the run:

My right shoe had come undone - it was annoying and I worried I might injure the foot.
KC (the dog) had not yet done her morning business and so I feared she would have to stop part way through.

Another milestone: I bought a pair of 36 jeans. They are a little snug and I may wait a while yet until I shrink into them, but I could wear them right now without being in pain. 10 years ago I had a pair of 50 jeans (which were a little loose.) I carry most of my weight around my mid-section, so a little weight loss can really impact my pants size.

I think I may stay at the two mile mark for a week, maybe two and just enjoy not always feeling like I might not finish today. I can always add a stretch goal later.

Forgot to add: We did the two miles in just around 24.5 minutes.

Oh, how awesome! I can’t wait until I can jog an entire mile

I’ve just finished week three and I’m going to download the music for week four today. I’m almost a month into the program, and I’m really proud of myself, it’s been a very long time since I actually stuck with a program like this (about 3 years).

Oh, and I sent out all the presents to my family today. Done!

As an aside – I looked more into the podrunner intervals site and there are two further programs, one that will get you to 8K and one that will get you to 10K!

Both of these are ten week programs, so if I continue at my current pace I could be running 10K by the summer, which seems like an INCREDIBLY crazy thing to aim at right now.

I need to pick me up some better running shoes!
