Well, I have gone running with the zombie app three times now and it has crashed twice, so I am a little bummed about that. I’m not able to comment on the accelometer, because of that. I suspect the crash has something to do with the auto lock on my phone. I am going to turn it off and see if that prevents it.
Anyway, I did week one day two on Saturday and day three today. Feel good
C25K worked for me, and I’m glad people are running. I will, however, be ecstatic when this played out “zombie” thing dies out. I expect it will be replaced with something even dumber.
Woke up Monday with the flu. I hope I can start running again on Friday,
I really want to finish the program.
About the zombie app, The part I like about it is the story element, maybe they will do different background settings, prehistoric hunter, the hunger games… What would you like to see?
The possibilities are endless, right? Robots? Vampires? Police? Aliens? Preschoolers? We were talking about this at work today and I got stuck on robots. The sound effects could be really campy…lots of beeping and clanking footsteps.
(sorry you’re under the weather, I hope you’re feeling better very soon!)
A 10 min brisk walk then 5 sets of 30 seconds runs and 1 minute walks followed by a free form run… Today I got to almost 5 minutes of running before I had to start walking.
It was cold outside but the chill doesn’t seem to bother me if I run emmediately after getting out of bed.
I have started C25K twice before, and both times life has side tracked me around week 5. But this thread has gotten me back interested again. I downloaded the Zombies, Run app and started the program yesterday. Thanks for getting me interested in running again.
Having trouble running every other day, had a bit of a flu and my irregular work hours is playing havoc with my schedule….next month should be easier work wise.
but sticking with it, every time I go running I feel awesome for the rest of the day
Prompted by this thread I downloaded the Zombies Run! app and I’ve been quite enjoying it. The plots are a little bit cheesy but it adds some interest & variety and I even seem to go a bit faster when I’m listening to it. Not sure if that’s fear of chasing zombies or just being distracted though
Finished day 3 week 2 this morning.
had to run in the snow today, a lot harder then what I was used to….running through virgin snow is kind of cool though , think I will feel my legs later on.
I just found out how to use the zombielink function, now I can spam all my sessions on facebook, the site is nice, with maps and tempo charts
Friday day 1 week 3……supposed to be the hardest week….
had my first run in daylight , still not really comfortable running(or walking) when others are about.
snow still makes it tougher on the muscles, but it went well
first a 5 minute walk, a five minute freeform run (with 5 minutes of actual running this time) 5 sets of 1 minutes runs, knee pull ups 1 minutes walks, then a 8 minute free form run,(did about 4 minutes of running here) 2 minute walk and an other 8 minute free form run(6 minutes of running, Whoohooo!)
I fell off the wagon for a while due to long work schedules, followed by a 4 days of rain. But I just finished week 2 day 1. It feels good to be back on the program.
Tomorrow: 5 mile hike
Next run: Tuesday after work
I’m not able to maintain an every other day running schedule either, I do try to stay active in the breaks, was planning to run yesterday but the snow was so fierce I couldn’t force myself out.
Tomorrow morning before work and Thursday should see me through week 3, after that my work schedule is a lot less hectic and the weather might even improve.
Welcome back Red (as an aside, I am envious of people who can have the nickname red…redheads, people named Redmond…whatever…sorry if the shortening of your name is bad)
I did not run at all this weekend. I have to adjust my mindset, I think, to accept the fact that it is unlikely I will be able to run on the weekend. My weekdays are pretty structured and I have at most 3.5 hours…at the least one hour before I get off work and I have to pick up my son from school. Perhaps I just need a different strategy.
