Could I be anemic?

I am wondering if I could possibly be anemic. I know, I know, go see a doctor blah blah. This is not a threatening condition and until I have at least a hint that I might be, I will refrain from spending hundreds of dollars. Anyway…

I am most interested in asking anemic people if any of this sound like what you may have experienced.

Here are my stats and some of my history that makes me think I might be anemic. Do these sound like spot-on for anemia or just a typical young person things (shut and stop being so lazy!)
Sex: Male
Age: 23
Height: 5’6” (short for family)
Weight: 115

  1. As an infant, my mom was shocked at the long naps I would take. She would let me sleep for hours and then eventually wake me up.

  2. In middle school my parents would fuss at me for complaining about being tired all of the time. They would regularly find me asleep at my desk (I was home schooled).

  3. I frequently get sick/nauseous after working out. I don’t work out tremendously hard, and this continues even after working out on schedule for months.

  4. Exercise, even after months, makes me much more tired. I am the opposite of the people who say they have more energy after implementing regular exercise routine.

  5. I can easily sleep 12 hours every day.

  6. With plenty of sleep, even if my “mind” is awake, my eyes/body can feel tired.
Am I anemic or just plain lazy?

I was seriously anemic once and never knew it.

The only way to know if you are anemic is to have a blood test. None of the “symptoms” you mention, which aren’t really symptoms, matter in the least.

You are far more likely to be having sleep issues than anemia. (Sleeping 12 hours without feeling rested is a real symptom.) Or any one of a hundred other problems. See a doctor.

The information you’ve provided is far too vague to be of value. You need to ask your medical professional so he/she may do the required testing.
Its foolish for you to rely on an anonymous message board for something as important as your health and well being.
