I’ve just returned from staying in a hotel and have thesebites on my ankle. Could they have been caused by bed bugs?
Assuming that I have been bitten by bed bugs what is the best way to treat the clothes and other possessions I have brought back with me.
And, yes I would appreciate answer fast!
I googled pictures of bedbug bites. I’m not a doctor, but the bites I see look more like individual dots, whereas yours is kind of rashy. Are they only on your ankles? It seems more likely that they’d be from something else… like if you sat on a chair outside at any point, you may have gotten chiggers or something else nibbling around your feet. Bedbugs wouldn’t just bite your ankles, I wouldn’t think. They’d bite you everywhere.
However, if they are from bedbugs, and If you’ve returned from the hotel and you already took stuff out of your bags, it’s too late to prevent them from getting in your home. There’s a really good bedbug thread around here somewhere… iirc, the first step is to isolate your luggage in the bathroom, wash your clothing multiple times in very, very hot water, wash your luggage if you can, or if you can’t, take a blow dryer to the suitcase. Since heat kills bedbugs.
The suitcase is sat in the middle of the kitchen floor and the clothes I was wearing when I came home are bagged.
