Countdown to ChiDope – Sex Toys, Booze, and Trivia Games - April 5th and 6th

About the only organizer I’ve had direct contact with is Jane, and I figure I owe her and the rest of you “conference staff” a bunch of free drinks at minimum.

So what I’m going to do, and I invite the rest of us visitors to join me, is target them. If there is a mug unfilled in thier hands, get them another! If the pretzel bowl is down to salt, fill it for them! Dance naked for their amusement if necessary!

Do NOT let our hosts pay for food and drink! Do NOT make them raise a sweat. They are GODS in human form! Our form of worship must be to pleasure and amuse them!

On a whim, I just bought four nosebleed tix to the Cubs v. Pirates Saturday at 1:20pm. Mine and the one next to me are spoken for, but the other two are up for grabs! Section 503, Row 3, seats 1-4. $12 a butt-space. Hopefully this is right next to the beer and hotdog vendor walking space. I’ll bring binos.

Izzat 1:20 pm? The schedule from cnnsi.com said it was a 3:20 pm Eastern game.

I’m somewhere in the less-nosebleed seats. All I know is, follow the person with the tickets.

For those looking for a weather forecast, go here. Right now mid-40s predicted for Friday and Saturday, mid 50s with light rain on Sunday. But it’s better than today - it’s been snowing on and off all freakin’ day. Normally, it’d be in the 60s or so. :grumble grumble grumble:

I am taking the SouthShore up into Chicago and then the blue line into Rosemont, I hope to catch the 10:50 am train.

Cubbies say 1:20. But we’ll certainly check.

Okay, this is going to be one of the lamest questions possible, but…can anyone, when I’m there, point me toward a decent thrift store or two some time on Saturday? I don’t have to dress entertainingly on Saturday night, but it would be fun, damnit. Anyhow, I hate what I wore in NYC and that was pretty much the extent of my “wild” clothes. snort Right now it’s jeans and a t-shirt unless I can find something very friggin’ cheap, and the thrift store sounds like the way to go, so…

If there are any folks who want to take a helpless Southerner thrifting, it would utterly fail to suck. I am a quick shopper, I promise.

BAH! You shhhed me. I thought you were making a special guest appearance.

(you have a special name tag)

It may be a bit late for the official announcement, but it turns out, I’ve gone from a “maybe to probably not” to “See you all in Chicago!”

I’ve got the the day off work, I’ve got some cash in m pocket, I’ve got a Doper-chick making the ride with me, I’ll be in town late Friday night - 11pm or so.

Not sure where we’re staying yet (and almost running out of time! Yikes!), but we’ll try to get into the Doubletree where so many seem to be staying or somewhere nearby.

I KNEW I liked you!

Oops. Yer right, UncleBill. I glanced at the wrong date.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/schedules/teams/cubs.html

It’s an honest mistake! Look at how close the dates are! I started drinking this morning to prep for ChiDope, you can’t blame me…

I thought I was, too, but it turned out about 70% of the ChiDope was in on the secret. So I outed myself.

Special like short bus? You’re too kind, darling.

Yeah, but it’s going to be steaming hot Saturday night surrounded by all those doper men in kilts. So I shall dress accordingly.

Zyada,

I am still planning to bring a CD boombox, and Norwegian Wood.

If no other dancing venue suggests itself, perhaps my hotel room?

Sorry, yojimboguy, but I think she has an appointment in her own room that night. :stuck_out_tongue:

Kilt-checking committee?

Oh yeah. I’m on it. Oh yeah. Works for me. Yep, I’ll do it. Not a problem, really. No trouble at all. Seriously, I don’t mind. I’m completely okay with it. Fine with me:::slap!:::

Cleaned Apartment: no.
Packed bags: no.
Bought cameras: no.
Finished homework due Monday: no.
Getting 8 hours of sleep before drive: no.
Oh yeah, baby. Chicago here I come!

Like, for example, my medicine…for which I need a prescription.

Not to worry. I’ll be perfectly sane and all that fun stuff.

And hmm. Cubs baseball. Well, it ain’t exactly real baseball;), but I haven’t been to a professional game in … thinks … have I EVER been to a MLB game?

Something to think about, indeed.

WAKE UP, SLIMY FISH!

Nyahahahaha! It’s D-Day!

I just heard a news story about Wrigley Field. The Cubs have put up opague fencing to block the view from neighboring buildings, “for security considerations”.
