Countdown to graduation

My daughter is graduating from high school in May. I feel as though this is a major accomplishment for me though in truth she’s done all the real work. We went shopping today on my lunch hour (ok lunch = 2 hours) and found the perfect graduation dress.

Still, graduating really adds up:

Announcements, cap and gown, etc: $90
Graduation “dues”: $85
Prom dress: $50 (we got off easy on that one)
Shoes for prom dess: $98 (cause the dress was so cheap)
proper undergarment for prom dress: $70
Graduation dress: $100
Shoes for Graduation dress: $50
SAT: $65
Laptop she’s selected as her graduation gift: $800

I’m sure there’s more that I’m not remembering.

Now, I’m not going to rip off that stupid commercial and say “priceless” and get all mushy and sentimental but I have to say that I have raised a fine young woman and I’m proud.

Life is good.

You give her a big hug and kiss from me, eh?

She sounds like a daughter to really be damn proud of.
