Tom Bartelson of Pepperell, Massachusetts, who was at the country club, described a chaotic scene that unfolded near his nephew’s wedding. He said he heard the shooter say “the children are safe” and “free Palestine” and appeared to be targeting someone.
Anyone find further information supporting the view that this was a terrorist attack in support of the Palestinian cause?
Hunter Nadeau, 23, a former employee of the club, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in DeCesare’s death, authorities said Sunday. There is no known connection between the two men, according to a statement from Formella.
Nadeau, who had not worked at the club for about a year, reportedly made multiple statements during the shooting that authorities believe were designed to create confusion, Formella said. Investigators are still working to understand his motive.
So perhaps it was just previous employment issues at the club.
I used to live in Nashua, and I have lots of friends still there. A few were close enough to have to deal with the police activity and sheltered in place for a bit.
This one definitely sounds like it was targeted.
But it sounds like the guy who was killed was not the target. An employee was also seriously shot so I wonder if that was the actual target.
Also, the fact that this happened in the club seems significant. If the shooter had a grudge against another employee, why not wait until they’re leaving work and shoot them then? Why make it a spectacle?
