Couple of questions for ammo reloaders?

Are there any reloaders on the SD?

  1. Was at a range yesterday and saw a notice for a guy selling Gold Fed match grade .308 brass in sorted boxed lots for $20/100 cases. Is that a good price?

  2. Bottle of case lube leaked all over a toolchest with a wooden box in it - I’m fairly fond of the wooden box, and the entire bottom is soaked with ick - how on earth do I fix it?

Many thanks!

Assuming this is the same stuff, Midwaywas selling 50 Federal Premium .308 cases for $25. When they could get it in…they weren’t even taking backorder. Now, those prices are for new brass. I’m assuming the guy is selling once (if you’re lucky) fired brass. I’ve never used someone else’s brass when I used to reload, and am personally a little leery of it, though I’d like to hear from others’ experiences with it.

  1. The answer to your question is going to depend on what the lube is made of. I’ve read anything from Lanolin/isopropyl alcohol (in which case treat it as a grease spill), to whatever water-soluble compound Lee lubes are made of, to black mica lube (which I understand is a devil to clean). The wooden box was unfinished? Or was it sealed/shellaced? Would the manufacturer’s customer service department have any answers?
