So I found a job I wanted to apply to. Said job asked for a cover letter. I go through the temp agency’s Web system, which does not give any opportunity to attach a cover letter. I call agency, they give me an e-mail address to reapply with a cover letter. I paste in some prewritten paragraphs, make adjustments, and send it (I’m on Thunderbird as an e-mail program). I later look at the copy in the sent mail folder. All the line breaks between paragraphs that I had/saw when I sent it are GONE.
If that’s the way the recipients saw it, I’m very embarrassed. Should I resend it with an apology, or just cross my fingers, considering it’d be the THIRD time I’d have sent in my resume?
And does anyone have any clue why Thunderbird does that - i.e. send out an e-mail that looks different in major ways formatting-wise from what you see when you compose it? This isn’t the first time this has happened, and I didn’t even have any problems with “recipient may not be able to read HTML, do you want to turn it off”.
