COVID-19 Contagiousness Chart

Back at the beginning of the pandemic, there were all these charts that showed estimates for how contagious and deadly COVID-19 was compared to other diseases. This article contains one from a year ago March (may be paywalled, but if you Google “COVID contagious comparison graph”, you’ll see others.

I can’t find anything more recent. It seems to me that it’s far more contagious than most other diseases, considering how many prevention steps have been taken, including vaccinating a big chunk of the population, shut downs, mask mandates, etc.

Has anyone seen a newer graph that compares the deadliness and contagiousness of this virus to other diseases? It would be great if it included the Delta variant, but anything from the last few months would be great.

Here’s an updated one from July:

C.D.C. Internal Report Calls Delta Variant as Contagious as Chickenpox - The New York Times (nytimes.com)

(look down a bit for an updated graph)

That’s perfect. Thanks!

Man, measles is really contagious! Good thing we have vaccine mandates in our schools for that!
