Covington Catholic High (in case it hasn't been mentioned already)

:smack:

(In my defense, I’ve had maybe about 3 hours of sleep in the last 24 hours, as I’ve been dealing with sciatica for about a month now and it’s gotten particularly bad lately)

So yes that should be “Have you stopped beating your WIFE, yet?”

Cosigned. But as long as everyone is still het up about this, I’ll continue to play:

I don’t agree with your characterization of the physical side of it. What you are calling the “actions” of the kids is their protected right to free speech and expression. By saying so, I’m not endorsing their speech and expression any more than the ACLU was endorsing the speech and expression of the Nazis who were being blocked from marching in Skokie. Is this really that hard to understand? And did you somehow miss the several times I called those boys “douchey”, “arrogant”, “horrifying”, etc.? Seriously, you act like those parts of my posts are invisible. I know it’s more comfortable for you to joust with idealized right wing blowhard strawman, but sometimes you have to step out of your comfort zone and confront reality. :dubious:

Let me also note FTR that my grandmother grew up on the Omaha reservation, and my mother’s first cousin (so my first cousin once removed) was for years part of a prominent Native American dance troupe. So I’m not inclined to “other” Philips, as you seem to assume. But just as I will always stand up for the right to free speech and expression even for those whose speech I find heinous, I will always stand up against those who cross the line from speech to physical aggression and incitement, even if they are “on my side” in general.

Feel free to disagree. But the fact remains that the contact, if any, was so inoffensive to have gone completely unremarked upon by anyone involved.

Seriously, your position on this comes across as someone trying so very, very hard to draw a line that simply doesn’t exist here in reality.

Absolutely. The kids were free to mock Mr. Phillips in whatever racist way they found best suited them. And they did.

Nope, didn’t miss it. If you throw in the word “racistly douchey”, or “horrifying racist”, I’d be fine. But you also seem completely at ease dismissing their actions in surrounding Mr. Phillips and attempting to humiliate him instead focusing on some kind of inadvertent contact that didn’t even merit comment by anyone actually involved. Which is, as we’ve ascertained, is your protected free speech right.

This is the first time I think I’ve dealt with you in any extensive way. I will tell you that with every post you make, you sound more and more like a troll. Whether it is your focus on an immaterial, possible physical contact that has never been an issue to anyone involved, your focus on this non-issue while ignoring the multitude of other, more heinous offenses, or your playing of the “my grandmother was an indigenous person” card, I’m quickly reaching the point of writing you off completely.

The House Intelligence Committee and Sen Warner (ranking D on the Senate Intelligence Committee) are both asking Twitter for information on the account posted the video clip to start the fracas. The account has since been deleted by Twitter.

Congress Now Wants Twitter to Explain How That Covington Teens Video Went Viral

We haven’t heard the last of this.

Oh whatever, keyboard warrior.

Yeah, where you come from, the only way you’ll confront black men is if you’re carrying concealed firearms. In DC, where that’s illegal? White guys pick fights with…the 65 year old skinny Native American. We get it. Shut the fuck up already.

And if you wear that hat with an unapproved facial expression you might have unhinged leftist loons advocating your murder.

Aren’t you the nut who was talking tough about what you’d do if someone wore a scary hat near you?

Hamlet, the physical contact was the ONLY “offense” committed by anyone involved here. A minor offense indeed, but still the only one.

Nutpicking does not make an argument.

“Offense”? Now you want to delve into the legalities of what occurred? It’ll be a huge mess, but if that’s where you’re planting your flag, we can do that. Tomorrow, though.

Says the guy who demands “capitulation and obedience” from women on the internet.

And you know that they were mocking him how?
They had just been chanting and bouncing up and down to drown out the racist tirades from the Black Israelites, in comes Phillips and his retinue drumming and chanting and you just KNOW that the reaction was not that they saw someone joining them in their chanting. That’s how it looks to me based on the video, Phillips comes in and some kids who had been breaking into chanting, clapping and bouncing whenever someone among them gave a cue, start chanting, clapping and bouncing to the beat of Phillips drum; for all they knew at that moment Phillps came to join them in drowning out the abuse from the BIs, specially in view that those same Native Americans had also been at the receiving end of the BIs slurs.
The dancing and shouting in rhythm with the drum seemed to die out pretty soon after Phillips companion, standing right by his shoulder, made clear what they were up to when shouting at one of the kids “Go back to Europe”, and it was Sandmann that gestured to a fellow student to not get into an argument with that man, while Phillips bangs a drum next to his face, yet he is the one made to look as if he was seeking confrontation.

The cognitive dissonance surrounding this whole thing is astounding.

Speaking of cognitive dissonance:

Your first post in this thread was:

And you’re a racist cunt who hates women and the disabled.

Don’t worry. The mods here have long made it clear that Black Hebrew Israelites like you aren’t to be held to the same standards of decency as the rest of us.

No you’re not. You’re thick as shit.

You posted a picture of your black self in the Living While Black thread, you stupid bastard.

You think my knowing you’re black will let people work out where you live? Man, you’re thick as shit.

The term ‘white supremacist’ means literally nothing when coming from you. Also, if this were a haven for white supremacy (ie. not grovelling and kissing your dick like asahi does) you’d have been banned ages ago.

And you’re a deeply tedious mix of thick as shit and dumb as a bag of hammers.

Yeah. Your story was unbelievable horse shit and the fact you thought it would fly with anyone in possession of a functioning bullshit detector is just more proof that you’re really fucking stupid.

Not people of color. Just you. You lying, thick as shit racist.

P.S. - Reported you again, because fuck you.

I’m still befuddled as to when doing a fake bastardized Maka (a Maori dance) became a school chant let alone a catholic school spirit chant. As in the kid who took off his coat and shirt and :Covington High viral controversy, moment by moment recall - YouTube (1:05 1 minute, 5 seconds later).

I mean, really, are Catholics doing this now? : Original maori haka dance - YouTube

Or this? New Zealand Maori Kapa haka dance - YouTube

Then they did tomahawk chops, faked along the song and tried to dance along with Mr. Philipps.

Considering that we just closed a year where I believe every extremest murder in the United States was committed by right-wingers, I’d much rather get death threats from leftists than from the rightists who have threatened to murder every single person on the other side of the video, which you apparently don’t care about, you pathetic hypocrite.

And here’s a cite:

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) released its annual report on extremism within the United States this week, revealing that individuals linked to or affiliated with the far-right were responsible for nearly every extremist-related murder committed in the United States in 2018.

The report notes far-right extremists were responsible for 49 murders in 2018, making it the fourth deadliest year on record for domestic extremism in the United States. What’s perhaps more alarming is that those murders only represent the tip of the iceberg.

Eh, only 49 murders last year: Trumpists are slowing down. They could have done better if that one Trump supporter’s bombs had gone off. Who would have guessed that a Trump supporter would be too stupid to make a working bomb? And hey, let me give you your counterargument: Remember that one time that one guy swung a bike lock at someone?

This doesn’t include right-wing cops executing people for being black either.

The original kinda made sense, though. Anyway, yikes, and I hope you can get some sleep!
