My usual daily puzzle solving at E-Crostic Software – E-Crostic Software led to a solution I had to check out for corroboration. Several articles from several years ago seemed to verify the puzzle’s assertion and the most comprehensive one I have found so far is at: Not Exactly Rocket Science

My best guess is that there’s evidence that cows and deer are sensitive to the earth’s magnetic field and align themselves accordingly while grazing. The article explains more, but that’s the gist of it.
