Cracked lets everyone (almost) you know go.

Swaim quit in October. Soren left a little bit back to write for American Dad. Jack O’Brien quit a little while back.

But today they let go Dan O Brien, John Cheese, Ian Fortey, Cody, Reimann, Sargent and others.

RIP Cracked.

It was pretty obvious considering lately they’ve been focusing more on infograph articles contributed by readers and so many new rticles are simply republishing of old articles just with the title changed.

I blame AuntieMeme for being the beginning of the end, when entire articles would just be her regurgitating old Cracked articles except in a single pic instead of a written list.

Yeah, Cracked has been for shit for a while. Mainly fake Photoplasties, Cracked Store ads masquerading as articles (I’ve seen where they stopped even including the “Cracked Store” by-line), recycled articles and short “Let’s talk about some event of the day” bits.

AuntieMeme is/was the worst.

Is Seanbaby still there at least?

If not, then yes, RIP Cracked.

Kristi Harrison is still around. Man I am not looking forward to the future there.

Maybe just articles after articles on the Daily Mail. They hate those guys and the insults they inflict are awesome.

American Dad? Didn’t that sitcom get canceled years ago? Or are we talking about something else?

Nope. Still around.

As for Seanbaby, pretty sure he’s freelance.

I didn’t even know that Swaim and Soren had left. Damn.

That was some lousy news to hear last night. And yeah, the overall quality on the site has fallen over the years, but there was still the occasional gem.
But what I’ll really miss is the video content that mostly featured these guys: After Hours, DOB’s Obsessive Pop Culture bit and a couple of others.

Can you give us a link to the announcement that those people left?

Perhaps a new group of writers will bring fresh ideas to their articles?

Cracked has been pretty stale for awhile. It may have been time to shake things up.

Not John Cheese! :frowning: I really enjoyed his articles.

This is as close as I can get to an announcement that all those people were left go:

In his Wikipedia entry, a tweet by O’Brian is quoted saying that he no longer works for Cracked.com. I can’t get to the tweet itself. Again, is there any official announcement that all those people were let go?

According to Wikipedia, it was announced on the Pointless Waste of Time forums but without a link:

Here’s the tweet by O’Brien:

Here’s an announcement by Soren Bowie that he’s left Cracked.com for American Dad:

David Wong’s post seems to be as close as I could find to an official announcement by Cracked itself (since he’s still with Cracked). But he acknowledges that a lot of mainstay staff is gone.

My post with the URL fixed:

O’Brian’s tweet was linked above. I linked to Wong’s post confirming the departure of a number of people. Places don’t usually offer an official statement “We canned the following people”.

So there have been several small announcements but no big overall announcement of what’s going on.
