Craig mp3 player won on eBay. Did I pay too much?

I just won this mp3 player on eBay. It was kind of a last minute, caught up in the moment bid and now I’m a little concerned that I might have paid too much for it. So I tried to find this item online to see how much it sells retail. It seems that this item does not exist. I’ve been looking for the last 1 ½ hours and cant find it anywhere. Does anyone have any experience with this mp3 player or know how much it is. Is Craig a good electronics company? Have I over paid for an mp3 player?

Craig is a low-end rebrander, and not a reputable maker of high fidelity technology. If your player works well when you get it, I suppose you got what you paid for.

Well, my cousin just paid $70 for pretty much the same thing - so I don’t think you got taken too badly (or at least not as badly as he did).

what is a rebrander? if you meen taking another brand like sony and putting the Craig name on it, then what other brand does Craig rebrand?

They buy parts from discount manufacturers in Asia or other foreign places, and have them assembled, or they buy “generic” sound equipment from similar companies and put their name on it. It’s the same as Radio Shack. They never made a stereo system from scratch, they bought equipment from other companies and put their name on it. Longines Symphonette never made a stereo, either, but you used to be able to get one with their brand on it. They weren’t great by any means, but they did what they advertised.

Is it just me or is that mp3 player’s design a bit… suggestive?

I don’t think you paid too much. I would have to pay 3 times that for exactly the same thing here in squaresville.

Almost all ‘no-brand’ mp3 players are made in the same factory and actually compare quite well to Creative mp3 players - at a much lower price.
