Crap - these DTV converter box coupons expire

I thought was being smart by ordering my coupons early so I could, I dunno, “beat the rush.”

I also thought I was being smart by waiting until I actually had some cash to get said boxes at the local Best Buy (they’re $60 apiece).

Now I have $80 in worthless coupons and have to decide if I want to spend $120 on boxes for two televisions I rarely use.

Totally mundane and pointless…and totally my fault. :frowning:

I thought if you have cable or satellite you didn’t need the converter thingies. Am I wrong?

StG

No, that’s true, at least for a while.

I’ve got neither, tho. I’m a luddite when it comes to TV - I have two fairly old models with bunny ears and no cable or dish.

The expiration pissed me off too. The store didn’t have the model I wanted and I had to buy a model that is crap, because the credit expired. Now they got in what I want but I don’t have a card or $60 for it. The cards should have been good until a couple months after the switch over in 2009.

I don’t know how the coupons work, but is everyone eligible for them? Could I ask for some even though I don’t need them, and go out and get converter boxes? If so, do you know someone who could do that and then give them to you?

Velma, you rock!!!

Sure can - and sure will!
