Creative legal or extralegal retaliation ideas against (503) spam phone calls?

These M0%^#*&#@!S call me multiple times a day from a 503 area code. The actual 7 digit phone number changes day to day. I have spoken to an actual human being more than once and have asked to be taken off the list to no avail. I try to ignore them but it is driving me mad. They have somehow bypassed the Do Not Call list.

Apparently they are selling home security systems, but the whole thing makes no sense. Half the time they don’t even put a live person on when you pick up- how on earth would they get any business?

Don’t tell me to call the FCC. They are well aware of the issue but apparently not able to do anything. The internet is chock-full of the horror stories of people getting inundated with 503 calls. Can we identify a person responsible?

I will consider anything and everything (but nothng unlawful of course :))

Do you know anyone else from that area code?
It seems to be the northwest corner of Oregon.
I wonder if you can just block (503) [wildcard].

If yours is a personal line, you might consider changing your number.
Many companies will still do that for you for free if you let them know you’re being harassed on the extant number. Of course, you’d have to go through the process of notifying people you like that your number is now different.

If it’s a business line, tell the caller(s) clearly that it’s a business line. I let a couple people know that when they were calling me at work and they said it’s illegal to interrupt my business; they stopped the call and never called again.

Jenny I got your number!
I didn’t think you’d mind.

This is what airhornswere designed for.

I get the same calls from 503. Fortunately, they call my cell, and I have a nifty call blocking app. So, try one of those if it’s a cell, and ask your landline provider about availability of call blocking.
