Has anyone been to the Dalton Defenders Museum in Coffeyville, Kansas or the Bonnie and Clyde Ambush Museum in Gibsland, Louisiana?
My vacation is next week. I’m fairly sure that I’m going to drive around and visit zoos. But I’m not decided.
I’ve always had some interest in the James/Dalton/Doolin gangs and the Public Enemy era, and I’m thinking it might be fun to explore that a little bit, since I’m near the heartland of both of those. But I don’t really want to spend my time walking out of places saying, “Holy cow, that was uninteresting.” Rinky-dink is fine, amateurish is fine, as long as it’s interesting.
I’m open to any other suggestions on the theme in a three or four day loop west and south of St. Louis, if anyone has any.
