Ze moon (taken last night) and ze sun (yes, really!) with clouds taken about 10 days ago, I think? I got a super-dense filter for the Nikon in hopes of getting shots of the eclipse, and am practicing.
So far, so good.
looking like you have it down already.
MissyFace is unhappy and two strange bird pictures.
Any ideas on the 2 bird pictures??
Here’s some things that are usually fast holding still for a change.
Most excellent pictures. You do some nice work.
Thanks. We have a buttload of dragonflies right now of several different types. I’ll be looking for more opportunities to take pictures of them.
Did you ever figure out what that mysterious flying object was in those two photos?
I think it was some kind of butterfly or something that was way closer to the camera and we could see through it because the shutter speed is too slow to stop it’s fwd flight or wing movement speed.
Or not, may be other worldly. I just watched a sic-fi movie which could have made that idea more prominent in my mind. Bawahahaha
Okay, How fast can I go?
36 minutes, had 596 pictures because I added some that I had not processed yet but were easy to through out.
Temperature has all critters at low activity. Not much that is really good.
File went from 800.93M to 6.75M that I uploaded and want to save on my machine.
Hotter than Satan’s armpit here too - didn’t even see the squirrels today.
But I did see this really cool bug. Not a great pic - it landed on my sleeve and I put it in a glass and laid it on its side on a towel to take the pic, but what a cool bug! Google says it’s a Mottled Tortoise Beetle. Pretty much the same size as a ladybug, but gold and black with a clear rim around the shell.
Cool catch and an innovative way to get a picture.
Does it fly? Like a Lady Bug or just walk around?
Dinner guests.
It flew just like a lady bug.
And that’s an interesting set of ‘guests’ you have there …
I have a few with really wild guest lists if I can find it.
I need it where I can find it easy. This was when we lived on Petit Jean Mountain in central Arkansas. Had a lot of visitors of many different critters.
Very nice pics of the red-headed woodpecker. I love those guys.
Our Carolina wrens have been active here despite the heat, but they’re hard to get in photos. The critter cam doesn’t pick them up at all.
Wonder why the CC does not catch one? Do they come in and grab a bite and leave before the CC can fire? Camera aim? Taking more than one shot at a time could help.
Don’t have many/any wrens around here so I know nothing about their habits and tendency’s.
Does it catch other birds of the same size?
The only time the cam catches birds is when they are really close to the lens. Not sure why it doesn’t fire when they are farther away.
Hummmmm
I have only used myself 4 different cameras, never top of the line nor bottom.
One very close to this only older model …

An older black Moultrie that used “D” cell batteries and Leupold ( older ) …
I have read a zillion reviews but have no $$$ for better stuff, the RCX Leupolds were a gift from a BIL who no longer wanted them.
So maybe the camera? Don’t know. What is your set up like, what are you aiming at, how far, target in sunlight or shade or both???
Don’t have to tell me, just willing to try and help.
I have one of the Bushnell Trophy Cams (the HD Aggressor)- I’ve noticed in reviews that other people have mentioned the same issue, so maybe it’s just meant for bigger stuff.
