Critter Cam out back.

Maybe you put out tastier stuff to eat.

I have tried a lot of different suet for the birds and it seem as their preference changes with the temperature or seasons.

Had to have a talk with Zeus because I found some raccoon scat in the corn tray. He needs to watch better. :::: Grump ::::

Not for any of the wingless critters. But it’s been a long, warm fall so maybe they’ve got better elsewhere.

Had 406 pictures when I checked today.
Wind has switched to Northerly and the temperature if falling.
Zeus is loving it.

20 pics, a lot of the “Woody” Family. Also the cat from next door.

Getting cold at night.
Getting more critter activity.

Lot of pictures start here.

1647 pictures from three cameras today. Mostly the same 4-6 does eating the corn. Bawahahahaa

So I only took the pictures that caught my eye as I went through them. ended up with … 60. I even only used about half of the big Woody the Woodpecker family that I got.

Enjoy…

Not near so many pictures this time.

So here are 25 for you to enjoy.

True ‘winter is coming’ signs have arrived. We’ve started to rehome wildlife that wants to come inside from the cold - one mouse and three freakin’ huge spiders in the last 24 hours. The mouse was a healthy-looking specimen, too.

I Sympathize & Empathize.

6 kitties & local owls = few rodents. Bigger problems are fixed by 110# of Zeus. The deer still out run him but he has finally figured out how to hide and so start from a lot closer. They still out run him but he is having a lot more fun this way.

Spider #4 was just escorted out. Husband says we need to start banding/barcoding these things to track movement.

We used to have a black snake that lived under the house who took care of the rodents. They’re still around but I guess we need more of 'em!

I am fine with big lazy slow moving spiders. Ambushing ones like the Black Widow, Brown Recluse, not so much.

Loves me some black snakes & lizards that eat mosquitoes.

I like the way your husband thinks.

Our spiders are these, the Carolina Wolf Spider. They are fast! And huge.

Agelenopsis. “The web is not sticky, but these spiders make up for that shortcoming by running very rapidly.” :dubious:

We get those too, but they are only kinda big, not huge.

20 foot rage bug gun spray stream from a high elevation seems just the ticket for those.

Rather have to deal with a Wolf than the Wolf-Spider.

YMMV

I went crazy with the pictures…
Well, I had over 1700 from the last SD card download…

So here you go with 88 I kept.

Found some older pics lost in wrong folders so I added them to today’s pictures.

38 pictures added.

A coyote just ambled across our back yard. Nice coat and tail, not scrawny. We’re about 400 feet from the beach.

I like coyotes. Ones on the mountain when I lived there were seldom a problem for dogs & cats and such. They had many food sources apparently.

Smart critters.

Cool you got to see one on your place.

This is the third or fourth time one or the other of us has seen one in the yard.

The cats are not happy being kept inside.
