Crocheters! Quick! I Need Your Help!

I’m making a baby blanket for my new niece, and I’ve lost the pattern! I don’t know what the name of the pattern is, and I don’t know how to do the edging! I checked the Lion Brand Yarn site, and the pattern isn’t there, either. Can anyone help me? The basic pattern is extremely simple. It’s just a 2 dc, ch 2, 1 sc all the way through it. You do the 2 dc etc. in each ch 2 space.

My kids got hold of the original pattern I had, and ripped it up. I’m missing some pieces of that one. I found another skein of yarn that had the same pattern, but I’ve lost it. The original pattern was on a skein of Jamie yarn, color pastel blue 206.

Any help would be MOST appreciated. This blanket is so cute, and I’m almost done! It’s the first blanket I’ve ever made, and I’m really quite proud of it!

Thanks!

Persephone I don’t mean to make light of your plight, but every time I see the word “crocheters” (which is not very often), all I can think of is some deviant splinter group from the Mickey Mouse Club’s Mouseketers, the “Crotch-eters”

Anyway, mom works at Jo-Ann Fabrics. Maybe she can help. I’ll ask.

rpinrd: BWAAAAHAHA! Now I’ll never be able to look at that word the same way again!

If all you’re missing is the edging, wouldn’t ANY edging do?
I do crotchet (heh-heh crotch-et) and I think they are pretty much interchagable. Maybe check out some pattern books and see if you can find one that looks similar?

dragonlady: I suppose, but I’m a rookie blanket-maker, and I’m just not ready to (eep!) make up my own stuff yet. I’ve tried to come up with my own patterns, but as of yet, they still look like crap.

Puts “crochet patterns baby blanket” into Google.
One truckload of free baby afghan patterns lands with a flump.

Hmm.

Puts in “free patterns baby afghan crochet”. An avalanche of Google hits descends with a thunderous roar.

Help.

Unable to burrow out to Copy and Paste URLs. Mark place with ski poles and send St. Bernard with brandy cask.

Roger and willco. Out.

Here ya go, DDG. By the way, this is why I checked at the Lion site instead of doing a Google search. I thought about it, but then I thought cripes, if I did that, I’d never get out of there alive.

But since you found all this stuff, I’ll sift through it & see what I can find! I might get lucky here!

Oy vey.

Since I was up there with the dog & the drinks, I decided to go ahead & do a Google search. Just brarely got out of the way of the avalanche.

Here’s the pattern, if any other “crochet-ers” feel like making a baby blanket. This one’s easy.
