Cuba and daily life in Afganastan

Hello everyone. Mabey it has been discussed on the news, but since my children are obsessed with cartoons I haven’t seen it, I was wondering where Cuba comes in on the terrorist attacks. We are not on the best terms with them and since they are so close by, I am curious.

Also I’ve been looking on the news websites, but couldn’t find anything aboout what daily life is like for the Afganastan(sp.) people. Does anyone know where I could find information?

Thanks folks !!!

Here’s an article about daily life for women in Afghanistan:

I heard on the first day on one of the news channels that Cuba offered up their air space for our use if we need it.

Of course, that was kind of a back-handed gesture as the US won’t let our planes fly there…

Cuba came out very supportive of the U.S. after the attacks. Isn’t it time to reconsider the relationship? I never could understand the problem – Cuba does have a rather odd regime in power, but no less odd than many other countries on good terms with the U.S.

But that would make us look silly!

If we accept Cuba in our backyard, that will be just one more domino in the unstoppable progress of communism. Jesse will never allow it.

Actually, Cuba may well be hoping that this realignment of U.S. priorities will open up a window for improved relations.

Perhaps, but (good) diplomats always find a way to save face.
