Currently-living people on Sgt Pepper cover

Quite a mix of people on the Sgt. Pepper LP cover; at the time it was made, around half of them were still alive. 45 years later, I count 4 of them still living, although some of the soccer players, Indian gurus and runway models could have slipped through my notice.

Still with us: Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Bob Dylan, Dion. Who did I miss?

Shirley Temple

I’d never thought much about it before. I just thought it was a group photo.

So, was this cover a painting? How did they get all those long dead people in that group shot? Wc Fields, Mae West, Poe were long, long dead before the 60’s. Marilyn Monroe, Stan Laurel, and Lenny Bruce died a few years before Sgt Pepper was made.

That album cover had a bunch of dead folks when it was made.

Dion DiMucci

It’s a photograph. The figures behind the Beatles are two-dimensional stand-ups assembled by artist Peter Blake.

About half, according to the OP.

Larry Bell and Bobby Breen are still alive.

Is Ali in it?

The boxer in the album cover is Sonny Liston, he died in 1970

:smack:

Mae West lived until 1980 and acted in two films (Myra Breckenridge and Sextette) after Sgt. Pepper was released. There’s a video on YouTube of her singing “Hard to Handle” from Breckenridge.

You of course mean the body-double the studio found to replace Paul McCartney after his death in 1966.

The wax figurine goes without saying.

Of course it does. Wax figurines can’t talk.
