The page that you linked to described it as a “giant” spider.

I’ve handled a lot of arachnids in my day, and there’s nothing giant about that particular creature. It’s larger than your typical house spider, but hardly “giant.”

I think the OP was using “Huge” in the Dungeons & Dragons sense of the word.

(Dunno where you live, but 'round here a large house spider is maybe larger than the first joint of your thumb. Sure, the critter’s smaller than a goliath bird-eating tarantula, but you’re not going to see a bird-eater outside the Amazon rainforest).

Not true. You can see a Goliath birdeater caged up in my spare bedroom. :slight_smile:

It’s admittedly larger than most of the spiders that I’ve handled, but still… I consider the spider in this video to be a wee little creature.
