The current Daleks have some sort of label/badge under their head stalks. What does it say?
Exterminate!
I just looked at images from a search for “Dalek 2021” and I don’t see a label/badge with any writing or graphic on it anywhere.
Here, and here, for example. You have to zoom in, and you can’t read it. But they can be seen below the eye stalk in Eve Of The Daleks and (I think) recent episodes.
Ah, the bronze Daleks… they are nametags.
Though generally appearing as foot soldiers, bronze Daleks could also be of higher ranks, distinguished from their subordinates only by their individual identifcation tag.
When I saw this thread, I was wondering if the Daleks would be putting out a clothing line.
I’ll take a look when I watch the new episode, but I would guess something to do with ranking as well.
Thanks for the image, Peter_Morris. I couldn’t see the ‘labels’ clearly during the episodes, and couldn’t tell if they were letters or not. It just struck me that these things were you’d expect an appliance label to be.
It says in Dalek ‘Manufactured by GE’ (General Extermination Company).
Yes; the post above yours contains a large high-quality pic; zooming in shows that each Dalek has a unique graphic, consistent with the Doctor Who Wiki’s entry describing them as individual identification.
It’s Dalekese for “Bob”.
