- I am planning a road trip and subsequent relocation, these are the main two cities I’m looking at. I have driven through Dal/Ft Worth before but not ever visited El Paso. The main reason I am moving is general economics; the job market where I am right now is pretty flat. El Paso is lower cost of living/higher demand, but the place looks generally rattier, and it has the higher crime rates of being on the Mexican border. El Paso has more interesting outdoor recreation possibilities, being next to actual mountains (I am guessing). Both of these cities are about 10X the size of where I live now, and the tax rates/job markets are better also.

- If you happen to know: what are the parts of these cities to avoid living in if possible? Also feel free to toss in any additional commentary you wish.

Well, I live in the greater Dallas area. What would you like to know?
El Paso is a very long drive from Dallas. It is part of Texas, but it is so far away, it might as well be another country.
There are lots of good and not so good places to live in Dallas. It will probably depend on where you end up working.
