For the last few days I have had the Grunka Lunka ditty from “Fry and the Slurm Factory” taking up residence in my brain. So in an effort to get rid of it by sharing it with others, I just thought I’d bring it up.
It could easily happen again to you, folks
So keep your head down and keep your mouth shut
Grunka Lunka Lunka dunkety dutt!
Nope, didn’t work on me. I didn’t click the link, and I am not familiar with the song, so you’ve still got it, cochrane.
I have “I’m Henery the Eighth I Am” by Herman’s Hermits (I’ve been practicing it on the piano for a week) alternating with “The Farmer and the Cowman Should Be Friends” from Oklahoma (for absolutely no reason that I can discern).
I’ll gladly surrender them to someone who enjoys odd 60s pop and the lesser Rodgers and Hammerstein ditties. Step right up, Dopers . . .
I love Henery the Eighth. If only I were hearing that instead. However, Herman’s Hermits’ version was a bit incomplete. Here’s the Harry Champion version from 1911 played on the original Edison Model A phonograph.
