Have a pot of chili bubbling away. Discovered too late that I don’t have any ‘regular’ chili powder, only chipotle chili powder, so… we’ll see how it turns out.
If you’re in a Hispanic mood, pozole stew (kind of like menudo, but with less tripe and more hominy).
If you’re in an Asian mood, egg-drop soup or hot-and-sour soup.
Hot.
It will turn out hot.
I use chipotle in a ratio of 1:10 to ancho or mulato when I make chili con carne, and I’m careful not to overdo it.
Serve with icy cold mugs of tequila, or a gallon of whole milk, in order to wash the chipotle off of your tongue.
It does have a heck of a kick, but it’s good!
Sadly, no alcohol or milk allowed, so I’ll just sit here and sweat!
Hot chocolate
Hard cider warmed in the microwave
Reading this thread I had no idea Chili was considered a winter dish. I’d never associated with with the weather.
I guess for me, grilled cheese reminds me of winter. My mom would make that in winter, but thats probably a personal preference. She’d also make toasted peanut butter and honey sandwiches with lettuce. Those were good.
