Have we decided on a new place yet? I know we were looking after the game last Thursday, but I can’t recall if we made a decision.
One place I have found is CrazyPoker. They use the same software as Gaming Club and offer the same low limit private games. Do we want to use them? Any other ideas?
Ack. After I posted the above, I tried to set up Crazy, but it wouldn’t let me as a US player. Duke, how did you you get set up? Alias and password? Or account and password?
I just signed up as a new player, gave a US address. It gave me a new account number or whatever and recognized me by my Gaming Club user name, I never said anything about DukeOfRat…it picked that up.
I never tried to fund it, maybe it doesn’t care where you’re from if you don’t have funds.
I’m not following you. It recognized you by your GC user name, but you never said anything about DukeOfRat?
When did you do this? Today? Or a day or two ago? I’ll see if I can come up with some new permutation of the setup process that I haven’t yet tried. I came across a link that said that all of Prima network is dumping US players.
BTW, if I can get set up, I will fund people to join us. It appears that I got a free $50 from GC, so I can afford it, provided I can transfer the money around.
Odd. I specifically asked them (using their live chat help) if they were open to us players and they said yes. When I opened up crazypoker last night they even had a pop up that said they were open to US players. I wonder if you are going to the right site?
I think Duke was just trying to say that he was able to use the same username that he was using at GC.
What I mean is I never physically typed in “DukeOf Rat”. I signed up, gave my name and address and set my password up. Then it gave me a user account name consisting of an alpha-numeric string. The next screen welcomed me as “DukeOfRat”, but I never entered that information. It evidently picked it up off the Gaming Room info on the computer.
And yes, I just did it last night after seeing you guys’ exchange.
Hmmm. I set up an account at Gaming Club last night, and was working on payment arrangements through click2pay. My mail server was down last night, so I could not fund the account. If y’all are moving, guess there’s no point in continuing with the click2pay thing…
Update: they are making it damn difficult for us. I got on the online chat, and Trevor said that I could not sign up because of the state I’m in (Democrat governor probably threatened them). So I used an old Texas address and I’m in. Getting funded may prove tricky, though.
Duke, I put you in as a referrer. You may get some free $ out of it. You’ll probably earn it as everyone uses your address to set up an account.
Would be great to get clarification if possible. When I get home from work, I’ll complete the click2pay registration, which, in theory, should allow me to fund an account–but I’d prefer to fund only one account, and I’d like to try to play with y’all.
Kinda wish there was a place that would allow private games for free, to eliminate the hassles of funding. I’m mostly interested in the game itself. Doesn’t really matter to me if the chips used to keep score have actual value or not…
Asterion would know the correct terminology - it’s something like “they are all Microgaming skins”. CrazyPoker knew my GamingClub alias, presumably from my email address.
Before I left to come back to work, the game wasn’t visible, but I found it in the Search for Game. Good to hear it’s up, I just wonder what the deal was on Gaming Club? If these sites are connected, yet one allows US play and one doesn’t, then that’s kinda odd.
If Dag Otto will fund me, and I get any bonuses, I’ll gladly share them with the crew as soon as I am clear (haven’t read the fine print, but I imagine I’ll have to deposit or play a certain amount. I hope a player-to-player transfer counts as a deposit!).
All right, I should be good to go with click2pay, which allegedly has instant funding. To play with y’all, I now to set up an account at Crazy Poker? Should I say someone referred me so they get the bonus?
And while I’m asking, will someone tell me about these games? I may really suck in a tournament setting–I prefer to play a conservative style, and the free games seem to have lots of people that think it’s fun to max raise every time, or go all in on a wing and a prayer…
