So I was window shopping on eBay, as one does, and I saw something I really wanted! But it was about to end! Well, okay. Well, it’s so cheap and shipping is $16 from Japan, I should see if the seller has anything else cheap that I want, then I could combine shipping. And yes they do! Hurray! (Actually they had several things, but I used some modicum of self-control and only looked at things under five bucks.)
So now I have two things coming from Japan, when earlier I bought stuff of etsy, and recently I bought three hats at Target (they were on clearance!)
sigh
Make me feel better: how has eBay or other shopping opportunities tempted you into spending money you really really shouldn’t?
(I just realized that neither of things I bought is going to go with the clothes I was shopping for accessories for. I’m alternating between LOL! and :smack: :smack: :smack: )
Hey, no shame! I loves me some shopping, too. Lord knows I spend far too much on stuff I don’t really need, but hey, I’ve got the means (it helps that I shop at discount stores), so I figure it’s not SO bad :D.
I’m also glad to hear things have picked up for you, friend! I remember in your thread about your hair, you said things were too tight to grab some new specs, so I’m glad things have turned around. Always good to hear about a Doper doing well!
Oh and as to my recent Ebay purchases: I bought all the stuff to do “rockstar toes” myself, so I don’t have to pay a salon. I needed gel, uv top coat, and a uv light dryer for nails. All cheap because it’s from China, but still $25 I probably didn’t need to spend. Oh well! I’m saving money in the long run, right? RIGHT?
I got a fairly large check and it’s convinced my gut that I can spend money. My brain can’t quite convince it that I shouldn’t be, especially considering my credit card balance.
(but I’ll be getting new glasses next time I have a gig, which will next month - and eye exams at Costco are crazy cheap! Because I desperately need new glasses, much more than I need new obi.)
Ha! I know that feeling. “I don’t need this, but. . . I really feel like I need this Ross egg timer, even though I don’t make many eggs, but maybe I could start making eggs! Yes! Eggs are healthy and will help me long term. This is a good $5 investment in my health!”
I think I paid $35 at Sams Club for my last eye exam, then I bought glasses from Zeni ($12 or something), then another pair from EyeBuyDirect, after I lost my zeni ones, for $35. Eyebuy is nice because they do buy one, get one free promotions pretty regularly and were super fast. Just make sure you get the eye doctor to give you your pupillary distance, since it’ll ask for that when you order online!
I just recently bought a REALLY NICE Omega automatic watch that was built in 1965 that I can KINDA afford, it was BY FAR the most expensive watch I have (and that is a BIG deal considering I have about 200 watches).
I was strong and didn’t buy anything off shirt.woot.com this week. That had nothing to do with the fact any of the shirts I wanted were sold out. Nothing at all. I’m strong. I can resist online shopping. Really I can. Ooh what’s on newegg?
