Probably too mild for the pit, and definitely games related.
The Sunday New York Times magazine has shrunk to save money. It is now shorter and less wide. I’m fine with it except for one thing - it appears there is no longer enough room to put in the acrostics and variety puzzles. In their place, they’ve put in a 5 x 5 and 7 x 7 Ken Ken.
Damn. I love acrostics, puns and anagrams, and cryptics, and especially diagramless puzzles - not to mention the interesting stuff Will has put in from time to time. We get Ken Kens the other six days. I’m betting those are computer generated anyhow - it wouldn’t be that hard to construct.
Shall we all make sure there is a letter to the Times about this?
