One of the reasons I hate Microsoft programs is that the writers of them always assume they know better than you do what you’re trying to do and put in “helpful” auto-fill routines. In fact, they never know what I’m trying to do, so I’m always turning those options off, cursing Bill under my breath.
But I’ve found one that has me stumped: the “country” field for my contacts in the mail program. The default is “United States” and I’ve not been able to find a way to change that default. Since almost everyone I have listed in my contacts lives in Canada, that means I have to change the country for each entry.
Any non-USians who have found a way to change the default to another country?
Wouldn’t it be easier to move you and all your friends to the U.S.?
actually… now that i think about it… it probably WOULD BE easier to just move everyone :smack:
Oh, c’mon, it’s not that bad. You people who live in foriegn countries often get your own internet categories just like com and org and edu. Many of your currencies (if you have them) also have symbols built into computers. Sometimes you even get a few of your own special letters, for when your alphabet doesn’t behave normally. Here you have all these special versions of things that behave almost like the real ones, and you’re complaining. Why can’t you just appreciate the favor?
