It’s the liberal element in society which seeks to tell us what words we can use, what kinds of cars to drive, the point at which our spending habits become “obscene”, who demands that people lose careers decades in the making over one biased or bigoted remark, who is quick to shout accusations of racism the second anyone dares to bring up one of the very real problems causing trouble for both sides when it comes to this or that politically protected minority, that seeks to make us hide our religion indoors and keep it out of public view, and micro-manage how we live even down to a recent attempt to forbid restaurants in New York from putting salt in any form (i.e., broth, soy sauce, whatever) in our food.
All of this will be met of course with posts along the line of “Oh, yeah…well, well…YOUR side doesn’t want gay people to get married.” And this may be true in a general sense - I myself don’t care. But we aren’t the ideology trying to get in everyone’s face and tell them how to talk and what to think and how to live and then trying to force acquiescence through societal intimidation and/or legislative/judicial fiat, and which considers its way of lookin at things to be the only way that isn’t evil or stupid, an giving no credence or legitimacy whatsoever to alternative points of view.

Are you contending that they are not “popular and well-liked”? If you are referring here to Medicare and Social Security, can you explain why we’ve seen approximately ZERO attempts by the Freedom-Loving GOP to eliminate these programs?
