Following on this thread from September, I snapped another tendon eight days ago. I knew I had hurt myself a bit, but I did not know how much until I saw the doctor tonight.
Making a complicated story short: I did not undo the work of two months ago, but the new problem is related to it. Back to the hospital for another operation, the week after next.
This new one will not be as complicated as the other one. Last time, it was arthroscopy. This time will be just a simple incision and then reattach the snapped tendon with yest another titanium screw. Or something like that.
Sorry to hear that; but look at the bright side, with the third titanium implant you’d get a gizmo that makes the Six Million Man bionic sound effect every time you use your arm to smash something.
Damn. What a roller coaster of a morning. First I was informed the operation would not be until next week, which I was not very happy about. BUT we just received another call saying I can have the operation tomorrow. So I’ve got to get moving and get to the hospital today. Will let you know how it goes in a few days when I’m back home.
Oops! We got another call. The doctor had mistakenly thought today (Tuesday) was Wednesday, so he meant the operation would be on Thursday. So I don’t go in until tomorrow.
But at least it’s this week. Will disappear for a few days from tomorrow.
I’m back! Got back yesterday evening (Friday evening) and slept a LONG time. They reconnected the tendon where it was severed, securing it with another titanium screw, so I have two now. And they used an arthroscope to check the previous work and determine it was still good. I should be all set now. Have to take it easy for a week or two now, which is not always easy for me to do.
I have to sign off for a few days. My arm started swelling up and bruising and my incision seeping. Went to the doctor today, and he said I’m simply using my arm too much. I have to give it a major rest for a few days. Specifically, he said to turn my computer off.
