I saw it for the 1st time today in IMAX. If you can see it in IMAX you should. A lot of the chase and action scenes are filmed in full IMAX . Also IMAX theaters have great sound systems. My only complaint is the movie was a bit long.
Well, it only makes sense, considering most of the other Best Picture nominees are still in theaters, too…
…Oh, right.
I actually heard that IMAX wasn’t that good because the screen was too big and you couldn’t really see everything at once.
You sit a bit further away…
…if you’re smart.
Yes, for IMAX don’t sit in the first couple of rows. Get there early so you can sit where you want.
Hmmm. Checked Moviefone to see where it’s playing and there are two theaters that I know do not have IMAX screens which nevertheless have The Dark Knight: The IMAX Experience listed.
They do, however, have some screening rooms with pretty big screens. Are IMAX screening rooms not as different from standard “screening rooms with pretty big screens” as they used to be?
“two theaters that I know do not have IMAX screens” = Century City AMC and Burbank AMC, for any L.A. Area Dopers who know these.
Normal theaters can’t show IMAX movies, they probably just screwed up the listing. The technology is not compatible. The movie is also back in regular theaters.
This must be it then, with a botched listing on Moviefone.
Thanks!
