I watched this show a couple of times. Last night, it was ‘The Valley Killer’.
His personal experience? He knew someone who knew someone who was murdered.
We’ll leave alone the fact that M William Phelps like to have the camera on HIM when is looking oh-so-serious. And he just looks befuddled.
But the serial killer in prison, the mysterious 13? Who will give us special insight into the mind of a serial killer? Puh-lease!!!
FBI Profiler: The murders stopped in 1988. What do you make of that?
the Mysterious 13: He may have been imprisoned on a lesser offense, died, or moved away from the area.
Really?? Ya think? You needed to call a serial killer in prison to get you insight into THAT??? Hell, I knew that from reading Silence of the Lambs twenty freaking years ago. This isn’t something you need ‘insight’ for. You just need basic cop skills. And I mean ‘basic’. All his ‘insight’ was like that. It wasn’t like talking to Hannibal Lechter through the glass. It was like like having someone read out of a textbook, one that we have all read.
In the last scene, he shows the one surviving victim some photos of who he thinks ‘might’ be the killer. He does it in such a way that anyone who has watched Law and Order would recognize as improper. First, he shows on picture. Not a photo array, one picture. Next, he tells her that he is* introducing someone to her that will show her another picture.* Let’s the witness know this picture is important! And of course, the witness reacts to the picture.
He can’t show US the picture though. And he can’t say anything new about the case, because he has poisoned the well.
What is wrong with these people? Am I the only one stupid enough to watch this show?
