Last lap…Kurt Bush…Ricky Craven locked door to door. Beating and banging each other. Craven wins by inches. No other racing matches that finish.
NASCAR rules!

And the hijack of all time…
I’m friends with Ricky’s aunt
WOW! I had to watch the race on tape delay–my daughter had a concert this afternoon. I saw Reeder’s thread and knew I was in for a treat. But I had no idea it would be so incredible. Real racing. I half expected Dave Blaney to catch them both. And we get Bristol next week.
That was one HELL of a last 2 laps!
Finally, the NASCAR Dopers come out of the woodwork!
That finish ranks up there as one of the best I’ve ever seen. Even more impressive was Busch saying he had no power steering for the last 10 laps. I don’t know how Craven kept from wrecking when they got together.
As an added bonus, I’ll be in Bristol next week.
Ooh, lucky, Brianjedi. I’ve only been at the Chicago Motorspeedway. (I was in the infield though!) very hot.
Didn’t get to the see the last laps, though they were on the radio; very fun listening to the last 5 laps as the radio kept cutting out under every overpass.
um, like 1/2 of the IRL races last year matched that finish
Not hardly.
An IRL car would have been torn to shreds during the final two laps of that race.
Does Kurt Busch ever have power steering? Seems like he’s lost it rather a lot lately.
What a finish! Wow!
About three years ago Bobby Labonte won the Dover race in similar fashion, passing the leader on the final stretch and beating him by about six inches. This one was closer, though…and more exciting!
But the funniest ending I ever saw was in a Busch race several years ago. On the final lap, the 2nd place car tried to make a pass but ended up crashing himself AND the 1st place car into the wall, and the 3rd place car crashed into both of them.
I was jumping up and down, screaming! Great Race finish! Loved it! And I especially liked the fact that Kurt Busch was gracious after the race was over. Wow!
