Looks like you have to transport them 10 miles away in an open vehicle to effectively relocate them.
I mean no disrespect squeegee and I wish you success with the other options from the bottom of my heart. Drowning a live animal is a trap is just horrifying to me.
I do have one other suggestion, though it’s probably a last ditch one. Many areas have Wildlife Rehabilitators who are just as nutty as I am and may come out and help you. If you google “Animal Rehabilitator” and the closest town, you may find one.
Good luck to you.
Further developments:
-
I flipped a large board over the top of the skunks’ burrow today. I want to see if they’re even still around. If they are, they’ll dig out tonight and I’ll see the evidence tomorrow.

I finally heard from an exterminator! yaay! (It only took 3 days of messages for them to return the call, grumble.) The bad news is the exterminator won’t set traps until Monday night (today being Thursday), because he can’t pick up an animal over the weekend if I catch something on Friday. Cool, maybe I can avoid being Rambo after all.
We’ll see if the Skunk Rave resumes tonight, or if I’m rid of them. I’m collecting Skunk Repellent now (see Verick’s post) just in case.
