Darth Vader robs bank

Gotta wonder if the tellers and folks in lobby were laughing - at first. A bank hold-up, basically in almost full Vader garb.

Here and here

Man, what do you expect? Death Stars ain’t cheap.

Bahhh

I bought 3 of em that had been foreclosed on just last week for pennies on the dollar…

Vader: (Wheeze) [James Earl Jones] Give me your money. It is inevitable.[/James Earl Jones] {Wheeze}

Teller: [Princess Ann Droid] What did you say? I CAN’T Understand you…[/Princess Ann Droid]

I opened this thread thinking the OP was going to be a joke and this would be a joke thread. But this is even better.

Darth Vader Bank Robber: . . . and all the cash in your drawer.
Teller (Strongly resembling Billy Dee Williams): That wasn’t part of your transaction!
DVBR: I am altering my transaction.
TSRBDW: This transaction is getting worse by the minute.

I find your lack of faith disturbing.
Seriously, though, wouldn’t the robber’s choice of costume make his apprehension (or at least conviction) easier? We’re not talking about a $5.00 mask here, but the whole costume. So unless he bought it second-hand (one of the all-time coolest garage sale scores, perhaps?), in theory at least the purchase should well be traceable, although the police will likely need another piece of evidence or three in order to catch him.

This will only serve to fan the flames of cop/nerd antagonism that plagues our nation.

Dick Cheney robbed a bank?

I was gonna work that into my OP somehow, but couldn’t think of a snappy enough way. Definitely thought of the recent thread of his heart-device and related Darth crap mentioned there. If he had ~zero insurance and had to so much as think of paying the medical bill, then bank robbery would more be relevant  No Cheney fan on this keyboard…

I was trying to figure out a way to work lack of insurance, his fake heart thing, and Halliburton into my post but finally settled on a simple question.

I dunno, the pants definitely aren’t part of the costume, and it looks like he’s wearing a sweater. I might just be the mask and the chestpiece.

Give him a break. After the fall of the Empire, a guy’s gotta do something to put food on the table

According to the article, it was a Darth Vader mask, a blue cape, and camoflage pants. I don’t think Darth ever wore cammies, and I’m pretty sure his cape was black.

He had to sell the black cape and his Sith pants to feed his family. This down economy affecst evil people too, you know. Although BP is looking for a new CEO.

Yes! Think of the family! He’s a single father trying to raise TWINS! If he can’t support them, they’ll go into the foster system!
