I concur. The President has always been an easy guy to talk to. They did cover some serious ground on leadership, but for the most part we saw two interesting guys, both extremely well-known in their primes, relaxing and talking about interesting stuff. (I probably could have done without the lamp thing. That seemed a stretch to make Obama seem more “human”.)
Letterman did a Paley Center-type show with Seinfeld discussing “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” and expressly said he was looking for a similar project for himself - something undemanding and all his, with no one to answer to. I suspect Tim Allen will be doing something similar as well.
When Obama was talking about struggling to assemble a lamp for his daughter while Michelle just dominated the mom-ing when the moved Malia into her dorm.
Right – it took him half an hour to assemble a lamp that had maybe four pieces to put together, while Michelle was doing all this cleaning and scrubbing.
