I’m really not. Gonna need some time.
Well I’m pretty burned out on the Trump show to be honest. Plot twists are way too contrived, and the main character is not believable as an actual human being.
So I think the Obama show may be better quality television at least.
My guess is that I’ll find some of the content interesting, and some of it not particularly interesting. Like a lot of other things on TV.
I love the Obamas but I highly doubt I’ll like their Netflix content. I imagine it’s going to be a lot of inspirational feel good stuff.
Not my cup of tea.

The producer is mostly just an investor, right? Who’s producing won’t tell you much about the art.

Contrived? The Trump Show is the best soap opera ever. Politics! Spies! FBI agents! Porn stars! An entire clan of shady, ruthless, photogenic people! What more could you ask?
True, if it gets glurgy it will be insufferable. However,
could be done objectively and tastefully. If you think about how badly Americans demonize each other, and how other nations do that with each other, it’s pretty clear we’re headed for a mass slaughter unless empathy can prevail. That would start with examining the lives of people slotted into whatever stereotype you like, show them as relatable humans who have made reasonable decisions based on the circumstances life has given them. Everyone has their prejudices. If this show aims at dissolving them or at least providing cause to reexamine them, that would be a good thing.
It could probably get tons of viewers in Scandinavia, all it needs is to have Barack Obama in a loop saying"I’m not George W. Bush."

So the deal is for multiple potential products without a lot of detail as to what specifically those might be. There’s really no information to form an opinion about, unless it is just because you like or hate them.

The “producer” credit is so ambiguous and widespread you can rarely know how much they’re actually involved with content creation. It could be just an investor (though that’s usually tagged as executive producer), or it could be a showrunner directly supervising groups of writers, directors, casting, etc.
From what I’ve read about this venture, I think the Obamas are going for something in between. Like a small version of what Walt Disney did, hiring and overseeing like-minded creative teams who do their own thing, but still having their fingerprints on everything
Honestly, my first thoughts on reading what I posted above were something similar to Peter Gabriel’s Real World Music. Where he took artists from around the world, especially from Africa, and gave them exposure in Europe and the USA and the money that came with it. Where he also sometimes used them in his own act or as opening acts.
Obviously this is a little different, but it seems at least the same in giving exposure and opportunities to people from around the world who might not otherwise get it.

If I understand this, you are saying that the Obamas “caused” Trump. As though the shitgibbon himself had nothing to do with Trump. Those nutty, powerful Obamas. We can’t blame Trump for Trump, it has to be the people who actually walked away gracefully. Ok. Are you talking about the Correspondent’s Dinner where Obama tore Trump a new asshole?
