I despise Obama, but he did not ‘cause Trump’. He would have beaten Trump into the ground had he run against Trump…that whole third term thing aside.
I liked the Letterman interview with Obama, but them doing a series? I’d have to see it to believe it.
Bah! Just another Primetime soap. Dallas, Dynasty, Knots Landing etc. did it all first. It’s just a bad remake. The only thing they haven’t done yet is “who shot [del]J.R.[/del] DJT” and I expect they’ll get around to that any time now.
Sounds like it’s going to be “inspirational” and “uplifting.”
I hate crap like that!
this is the “look what you made me do!” school of ‘caused’, right?
When I read the title, I immediately thought of Michael Portillo, who has made some lovely TV programs since he lost his seat in the Commons. Then I read the text. Oh dear.
Think the OP will return?
Seriously! “Obama, how could you not even consider the damage you would cause by Presidenting While Black[sup]TM[/sup]? You just flaunted your presidential blackness all over the place. If you hadn’t done that, racist shitgibbons would’ve stayed hidden and we could all pretend that racism was basically not a thing any more. How dare you, sir? How. Dare. You?”
OP: I doubt you’ll deign to return to thread, but if you do, I hope you deign to compare your expectations for the Obama show with the Trump show presently in progress.
Even worse, he pretended to be half-white. Matt Taibbi interviewed a couple at a Tea Party convention for whom this was a key ingredient of Obama’s reprehensibility.
Heck no.
Now personally, I think he did a good job and I’m a republican.
But no, I dont want to see him and Michelle on tv 24/7. One of the good things about the USA is we have peaceful changes of power and our leaders hand over the reins to the next person and then step aside. Even if they hate the next person.
Why cant they just go away and live a quiet life like the Bush’s both did or if they want to stay busy why not build houses like Carter does? Bill does global work with his foundation and thats almost too much for me.
Ok, now you.
Give me a break I only started this thread yesterday. I do have a life you know.
I see no reason to believe they’ll be on TV much, if at all. I didn’t read anything about on-screen performance, just production and development.
I’ll say that if the career actions of post-Presidents bothers you so much, the problem is probably with you, not them.
Now this is a perfect example of a thread that should be moved to the Pit: It’s entire purpose is provocation, the content is just a drive-by dump and the OP has no idea what he’s posting about. There is no “Obama Show” of course. Really, UrbanRedneck? You couldn’t spend thirty seconds reading about your subject before dropping a turd?

They’re not doing a reality show. It’s just a production deal. There is no indication either of them will appear on screen for even a minute. Now perhaps they will - an interview show say, or it could be they’ll remake The Jeffersons with themselves playing the lead. But I kinda doubt it.
[Moderating]
A reminder: Even if you think a thread should be in the Pit, doesn’t mean that it already is. For now, this thread is still in CS, and at the moment, I don’t see any reason to change that. So behave accordingly.
So, will you answer my question? What discussion did you hope to inspire? Your op was factually inaccurate as there is not going to be the Obama Show, rather they are producing some content. Was your op intentionally inaccurate, if so why and if not, why did you feel inspired to post about this before becoming informed?
Who knows, maybe they’ll do an alternate reality show, where Obama did get a third term. And it is just a 24/7 camera feed of what a competent president looks like.
I prefer Obama’s true messages to learn who he was.
Here he talks about Malcom X, a poet who was a communist, and being angry.
If we can post links:

[/QUOTE]I find it hilarious that, when trying to find the “true Obama”, and who he was as a leader, Obama-haters reach for obscure and very old clips and writings rather than, say, his actual tenure as President.
Well, it only goes to show that we’re being completely reasonable to pull out all the old Trump videos, newspaper statements and the like and hold him completely responsible now for all of the reprehensible things he said all the way back to the 70’s, right?
Surely Silver lining agrees with us on this, right Sl?
