From my office window I can see a pretty significant column of black smoke rising from deep NW. Given the size / distance it appears to be a sizeable blaze. Anyone know what’s going on? the washingtonpost.com, etc. doesn’t have nothing yet. DC Lunch Buch order cajun food?
Sorry I can’t help. I’m in Crystal City, but a building blocks my view from north to northwest.

A three-alarm fire at the Algerian Embassy at 2118 Kalorama Road NW has been doused, but smoke lingers in area north of Dupont Circle…
From the Washington Post
Algeria and Iraq. I hope it was an accident and not some wacko reactionary (from any side).
I’m close enough but facing the wrong direction. I have a bird’s eye view of the Hecht Company’s roof at metro center.
After I left my last post, I left work. I couldn’t see anything in that direction but a smokey haze.
Of course, I heard the location on the WMAL “Traffic on the 6’s” update. But by the time I got home, you’d already figured it out.
