For several days now I get the following message upon booting up: “ubd.exe - Entry Point not found - The procedure entry point_Block_object_assign could not be found in the dynamic link library Core Foundation.dll”
I’ve Googled various key words and found websites telling me that I need to clean my registry. A registry scan from those sites disclose umpteen errors, which they will clean for a price. Of course I deleted those sites. Does anyone know how I can get rid of that message? It’s no big problem. It goes away after I click OK.
ubd.exe seems to be something provided by Apple, probably for iCloud on Windows. non-essential. Run msconfig, check under the startup tab, and see if you can disable it. Or, uninstall icloud, and try reinstalling it if you really want it.
I try to avoid registry cleaners. Some of those links look like they will scan and find umpteen errors. They may clean a few but want bucks for the others. I use cccleaner registry cleaner, but it is quite safe, deleting keys left over from sites.
Disable or remove apple software.
Core Foundation.dll is from apple.
BLock_object is a unix/android/apple OS thing… well ubd.exe is tyring to find it in Core Foundation, so both must be from apple.
I did uninstall iTunes, but I still got the message, so I downloaded it again. That error message arose right after I updated the latest version of iTunes, which is why I uninstalled it. Because that did not solve my problem, I re-installed it. I did a complete uninstall using iObit Uninstaller, which removed all the apple registry keys. Perhaps I should try it again?
This page says Apple is working on fixing the bug in their code that causes the error message. Normally you could try uninstalling Apple’s buggy software until they get it patched, but it sounds like that’s not easy. Make sure you let the software update, once Apple gets it patched, but until then you should probably just ignore it.
